Invitations, check!

We searched high and low for the fastest, most affordable, and lowest highblood risk offset printers in Metro Manila. I've emailed most of them (half bounced back to me with a disclaimer that the message was never sent to the full mailbox of so-and-so-supplier) and replies ranged from very very apologetic (it was, afterall, too late to book) to very very curt and not-so-friendly.

We decided to go with our suki, Quiapo Printing.

An epiphany of sorts

I just realized this -- just now, just a few minutes ago, and I am seized with terror.

I AM actually PLANNING MY MOM's WEDDING. All of it, all of it, all of it!

Oh nose.

Why do I have time to do this when the wedding is a month away?

I've decided to make this blog to document (while I still can) our adventures in planning our parent's wedding. We found out early this year that they were thinking of renewing their vows, but little did we know that they wanted something that involved 150 guests. We though they just wanted a party in our roofdeck, not an entire wedding with bridal cars and red carpets.

I am, as some may know, a writer for a wedding magazine, so I'm expected to know a little about these things, at least in the beauty and grooming department. I've probably been to more than 50 weddings in my entire life -- including the weddings I've sang to as a member of the U.P. Cherubim and Seraphim and the real awesome group (I hope you guys still sing) Gossammer Wings, weddings I've styled and done makeup for (but they mostly involve me running around the photographer to check if the bride's hairpins are out of sight, and those I've actually been invited to witness as a part of the entourage or as the only inappropriately dressed bystander. But there are just some things that 50 weddings cannot prepare you for -- things like guest lists and caterers and scheming evil church booking agents, and there are some things that you simply cannot control when you're planning someone else's wedding.
